The meeting will take place on Friday, July 9, 1:00 pm, via Zoom. Note this meeting is one week later than usual due to the July 4th holiday. Join us as we learn how to use the  “What Are The Odds?” tool (also known as WATO) from Jonny Perl’s DNA Painter website. WATO is designed to help you figure out where someone might fit into a known family tree by using the amount of DNA they share with people in that tree.  It is helpful in solving cases of unknown parentage, unknown grandparents, or even unknown great-grandparents.  The newest version has major upgrades that make using WATO much easier.

[VCGS and Conejo Valley Genealogical Society DNA SIGs are coordinating topics and are alternating hosting meetings for our combined DNA SIG memberships. (Note that CVGS’s DNA SIG meets on Friday afternoons.) This meeting will be held online with Zoom and an invitation will be sent out to the CVGS DNA SIG via email about 12 hours prior to the meeting. If you are not already on the CVGS DNA SIG email list you may contact Colleen Yinger (csyinger@roadrunner.com) to be added.]
